[KACT] Updates and ideas

It was good to see some people at KATS Kamp this last weekend!
We had a brief meeting and discussed some ideas for KACT for the next year
(the official meeting minutes are on the website in the members area):
1. Informal regional meetings--the regional reps could find volunteers to
host a meeting for a couple of hours in the evening (with soem snacks!) and
share some labs or activities or teaching tips. It could travel around to
different high schools and members could bring thier friends/co-workers and
get them involved in KACT as well. I'll send a list of all the members to
the regional reps so they can get some plans going.
2. Forming carpool groups to Omaha for NSTA next fall--we'll get that
together later.
3. Next year's KACT conference in the Wichita area in October (before NSTA
in Omaha)
4. The scholarship applications will be reviewed blindly (I'll remove all
names/schools before sending them to Angie for the selection process).
Anyone that wants to help read htem (we have 5 right now) and choose a
winner can contact Angie at astockam@xxxxxxxxxx
5. We have an opening for a Secretary as Stephanie is moving out of state.
Anyone interested can contact me.
6. We have an opening for Newsletter editor. Anyone interested can contact
me.
7. Stephanie got all the paperwork in for our application to be an NSTA
affiliated group--we're waiting to hear back from them.
