LII: Librarians' Index to the Internet
NEW THIS WEEK for December 18, 2003
**********************************************************************
Tip of the Week: Coping with VLURLs
VLURLs (our made-up term for Very Long URLs) often "break" in your
messages, wrapping around two lines so you think the URL is broken.
When that happens with New This Week (as is true with several good
sites we couldn't bear relegating to our "More New" list), go
online to http://lii.org/ntw and read "New This Week" on the Web.
Voila!
**********************************************************************
To read lii.org New This Week on the Web, go to: http://lii.org/ntw
To see over 13,000 other great resources, go to: http://lii.org/
**********************************************************************
IN NEW THIS WEEK, below, and online at http://lii.org/ntw :
Track Santa's activities via NORAD, and learn more about handspinning,
Hanukkah, Chinese gardens, prairie diaries, Saddam Hussein, Tikrit,
big trees and miniature books, Victorian Christmas cards, poetry in
Canada and Christmas in Mexico, and the impact in California of the
loss of the VLF (Vehicle License Fee). Last but certainly not least,
bid farewell to Keiko the whale.
MORE NEW THIS WEEK, online at http://lii.org/mntw :
Deafness, tips for cell phone users, Foucault Pendulums, women's
suffrage, people who study paper ephemera, and more.
Bon appetit!
