What:  A Last-Ditch, Now-or-Never, collective effort to modify the current
airport operating restrictions! (SFAR-94)

When & Where:  Saturday, January 11th, 2003,  One hour meeting in the
Ops-Annex meeting room, CGS, starting promptly at 10:00am.  Coffee & Donuts
for All !!

Why:  The current SFAR that places flight restrictions on CGS, VKX & W32 is
due to expire on February 12th, 2003.  At that time, it will be cancelled,
amended or renewed.  It is possible that some of the current federal thinking
will have a devastating impact on the future of the three airports.  You are
being asked to contribute some time & effort to get our message across to the
federal decision-makers before it's too late.  A proposed Action Plan will be
presented, and your input will be solicited.

Please plan to attend and participate! Invite others!!  This may very well be
our last opportunity to make a difference!  College Park
Airport needs your help & support like never before!  Questions? ..call Lee
at (301) 864-5844.

This meeting is OPEN to anyone who believes:

1) That there can be a reasonable balance between national security and our
right to fly, and
2) Believes the TSA is currently not anywhere in the ballpark when it comes
to balancing those issues.

In MY opinion, The SFAR that chokes the DC-3 was over-reaction by federal
officials, based upon a collective, well-intentioned ignorance of general
aviation and an over-abundance of caution, sprinkled with some really dumb
mistakes.  Now that 16 months have elapsed since 9/11/01, it's time for
cooler heads to prevail, and base future operating restrictions on sound
principles of risk management, with restrictions appropriate to the threat,
i.e.: a measurement of: Opportunity/Probability/Consequence.

Many CGS veterans have little confidence in TSA's ability or desire to
modify, amend or even review SFAR-94 when it expires on 2/13/03...Based upon
past experience, some unnamed committee, group, task force, etc. will simply
choose to extend the restrictions carte blanche, smug in their position that
they are "doing the right thing", and showing zero interest in treating
American citizens like American citizens should be treated.

So, ya'll come-on over, (Remember, ya gotta drive to CGS, 'cause you're a
security threat if you fly), have coffee & a donut, listen a little, and
maybe you'll decide to give us a hand.  Today, it's CGS, VKX & W32....and I
can almost guarantee they're not done yet with the rest of us!

Lee/CGS
