This is a very sad day. It is apparent that Mr. Meyer had different
personal minimums than most pilots I know. I can only hope that we are able
to get
an ILS or WAAS approach in the near future. A precision approach may or may
not hae helped save the aircraft and two victims, but I all would have had a
much better chance of survival for sure. Today is NOT the day to be flying
around the DC metro area. I had planned to fly, but the weather and traffic
congestion kept me on the ground. As I look out of my office window into the
dense fog here at the farm I'm very happy with my no-go decision.
We'll be sure to remember the Meyer family in our prayers tonight.
The best from our family to yours. We still have a lot to be thankful for
this Thanksgiving Holiday.
