Subj: TERRORISM UPDATE - USE OF SMALL AIRCRAFT
Date: 5/24/2002 2:07:14 PM Eastern Daylight Time
Hey Gang: This is serious!!
The FBI has received uncorroborated information indicating that terrorists
may still be interested in the use of aircraft for suicide attacks in the
United States. The interest is reportedly in the use of small aircraft, due
to the enhanced aviation security post 9-11.
With this Memorial Day weekend, I ask that you to share this information
with other pilots, FBO, and airport personnel at your airport. All extra
vigilance on our part may help discourage any possible actions by those who
wish to harm us.
Attached are links to documents from the FAA and AOPA relating to GA
security for aircraft owners, FBO’s, and flight schools. A quick review is
appropriate. Section 6. in the FBO document is really important to us. During
this holiday weekend, if your see any suspicious activities or persons in and
around you airport, contact your local FBI office, local police department,
and airport management office.

Most of all, if you fly this weekend, fly safe. Have a great Memorial Day
weekend!!!
