TSA PLANS AIRCRAFT FLUSH FOR WASHINGTON ADIZ
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is preparing to allow aircraft operators who are currently based inside–but cannot operate within–the Washington Metropolitan Area Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) an opportunity to relocate their aircraft outside the ADIZ boundaries. This applies to aircraft that are unable to maintain two-way communication with air traffic control or monitor CTAF, and can't meet the ADIZ's transponder requirements. Supply the following information to TSA: aircraft owner's full name; pilot's full name (if different from aircraft owner); contact telephone number(s); e-mail address(es); aircraft tail number; location of aircraft, including latitude and longitude coordinates; radio capabilities; and transponder capabilities. This information should be submitted no later than midnight, September 12, to the TSA by telephone (571/227-1538), fax (571/221-2948), or e-mail. Additional instructions will be provided later.
