[JYO] TFR over Virginia tech today

FAA TO ESTABLISH TFR OVER BLACKSBURG TODAY
AOPA is sending this message to advise pilots in and near Blacksburg,
Virginia, that the FAA has issued a notam restricting flight in the
area during President Bush's planned visit to Virginia Tech today,
Tuesday, April 17.

There will be two large 30-nautical-mile-radius temporary flight
restrictions (TFRs). The first will be centered on the ROA VOR's
107-degree radial at 5.3 miles, extending up to Flight Level 180.
It will be in effect twice today.

--12:20 p.m. until 1:15 p.m.
--3:35 p.m. until 4:40 p.m.

The second TFR will be centered on the PSK VOR's 067-degree radial at
16.1 miles, extending up to Flight Level 180. It will be in effect
from 12:45 p.m. local until 4:15 p.m. local today.

Also, there will be a smaller 10-nm-radius GA no-fly zone in effect
within each of the larger TFRs during those time frames. See AOPA
Online for the full text of the notam along with a graphical depiction
( http://www.aopa.org/whatsnew/notams.html#7/8397 ).

The affected landing facilities are Roanoke Regional/Woodrum Field (ROA),
New Castle International (VA85), Brammer SPB (7VA7), Smith Mountain
Lake (W91), Virginiatech/Montgomery Executive (BCB), Lockerman SPB
(VA48), New London (W90), and New River Valley (PSK).

Because TFR airspace frequently changes, AOPA strongly encourages
pilots to obtain a briefing and CHECK NOTAMS before every flight.
TFR violators will be intercepted and forced to land.
