[JYO] REMINDER - COMMISSION MEETING AND DC ADIZ Q&A AT LEESBURG AIRPORT

Just a reminder that the regularly scheduled Leesburg Airport Commission
meeting will be held Tuesday evening at 7:30 PM in the Stanley F. Caulkins
Terminal Building. A work session precedes the meeting.

And, representatives of Potomac TRACON, Leesburg AFSS, and FAA HQs will give
a presentation and answer questions on the Washington ADIZ on Wednesday
evening at 7 PM. Mr. Randy Horner, Potomac TRACON, Kathlyn Hoekstra, an
attorney from the Enforcement Division, Office of Chief Counsel, FAA HQs,
and Mr. Pete Hall,
Leesburg AFSS will be in attendance.

I highly recommend that all Leesburg-based pilots, and any pilots routinely
flying in the Shenandoah sector, attend the meeting. We hope to gain a lot
of understanding regarding operations and I personally am pursuing an agenda
of improving communications between pilots and controllers, in order to
smooth out the wrinkles in an imperfect process.

A final reminder: Wednesday's meeting is specifically designed to discuss
operational issues and help us work together with the controllers, not to
rant about the existence of the ADIZ, or ask why it's there. That's
another, different meeting.

Thanks,

Dennis Boykin
Vice Chair
Leesburg Airport Commission
