Pilot Violates Reagan National Airport Airspace today.
A pilot of a small plane flew into restricted airspace at Reagan National
Airport.
The U.S. Air Force scrambled two fighter jets this afternoon to follow the
aircraft and they intercepted over Sterling, VA.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Les Dorr says as the pilot headed
west, Dulles International Airport suspended departures for about 15 mintues.
Two planes were delayed.
Dorr says it doesn't appear the pilot of the Beech 35 intended to harm anyone
by violating airspace.
The pilot landed at an airstrip in Front Royal, Virginia. The Warren County
Sheriff's Department says it's detained the pilot for the Secret Service.
