AOPA President Boyer to testify before Congress today   
— AOPA President Phil Boyer will testify before 
Congress today about the impact current flight restrictions are having on 
general aviation pilots and businesses. Boyer will be the lead witness on the 
second panel, which at this time has not yet been called. The hearing before 
the House aviation subcommittee began at 11 a.m. and is currently recessed

Boyer will talk about the need to provide relief for the 41,000 aircraft 
trapped inside the enhanced Class B airspace and the Washington, D.C. and New 
York TFR exclusionary zones. He will also talk about the impact on small 
aviation businesses such as aerial photographers, banner-towers, traffic 
reporters and news aircraft, and tell Congress about the need for a financial 
relief package to help those businesses harmed by the shut-down of general 
aviation operations.
