Hello,
Airport Management has suggested raising the pattern altitude at GAI to 1000
AGL (approximately 1530 MSL) instead of the current 800 AGL (1330 MSL),
primarily for noise abatement reasons.
The pattern altitude change is proposed to go into effect August 5th
(coincident with a new edition of the A/FD).
MCAA is in favor of the proposed change, since it will help reduce noise to
our neighbors and, if anything, will have a beneficial safety effect since we
will have a couple hundred extra feet of altitude in the pattern.
Prior to the official decision, John Luke (airport manager as of March 1,
2004) is soliciting comments on the proposed change - please feel free to
contact John with any comments you may have. His email address is:
JohnLuke3@xxxxxxx
Thanks,
MCAA Board
