[JYO] MITRE CAASD is looking for pilots with ATP ratings.

Make a difference in advancing runway safety systems and cockpit design!

MITRE’s Center for Advanced Aviation System Development (CAASD) is
soliciting participation for a study to evaluate flight deck-based runway
safety
technologies. In coordination with the FAA, RTCA Special Committee 186, and
line
pilot organizations (the Airline Pilots Association, ALPA and the Independent
Pilots Association, IPA) MITRE CAASD is developing requirements for advanced
indications and alerts on Cockpit Displays of Traffic Information (CDTI). By
processing Automatic Dependent Surveillance–Broadcast (ADS-B) data, this
research identifies display and alerting options to reduce runway incursions
and
collisions in the airport environment. Pilot input is needed to address the
human factors issues.
Participants will operate a medium-fidelity, fixed-base simulator with a 120
degree out-of-window view. Simulations consist of landing, taxi, and
departure operations in multiple scenarios over the course of approximately 7
hours, starting at 9:00 am. The study will take place between June 2nd and
June
27th, 2008 at MITRE II at 7515 Colshire Drive in McLean, VA.
MITRE CAASD is looking for pilots with ATP ratings. Simulator training will
be provided.
Participants will be compensated $200 for their time.
We look forward to your participation. For scheduling, please contact
