[JYO] Leesburg/ ADIZ operational issues

Potomac TRACON Procedures and ADIZ problems

For Leesburg Pilots:

I am drafting a document for consideration by the Leesburg Airport
Commission and Airport Director, detailing operational problems created by
the Washington ADIZ.  This will form the basis for an issues discussion with
government regulatory agencies.  I need your help.  I'm looking for specific
situations of PCT procedures that have adversely affected your flying.  I
need well-written, cogent anecdotes of lost flight plans, delayed flights,
cancelled operations, or unsafe practices.

I DON'T need reasons why the ADIZ should be eliminated.  That's the 'next'
phase.  Right now I'm looking for operational issues that can be addressed
by government managers.  I have already received AOPA input and am now
looking for personal experiences.  Some examples might be IFR routings that
don't make sense, lack of understanding of filing requirements, NOTAM
confusion, or problems gaining re-entry into the airspace.  Specific
details, including location, altitude, frequencies, and dates would be
helpful.  These issues would be provided to the folks we're talking with as
read-aheads prior to our meeting.

Please respond DIRECTLY to me (NOT ON THIS LIST, PLEASE ! ! ! ) at
boykin_dennis@xxxxxxxxx  .  I'm specifically looking for issues from pilots
based at JYO, but all are welcome to comment.

Thanks,

Dennis
