The members of the  County’s Board of Supervisors (BOS) are seriously 
considering a significant  tax increase for airplanes stationed within the  
county. 
I can assure you  that we (airport commissioners) are working hard to have 
this initiative  blocked, but we need the help of every aircraft owner who 
keeps 
an airplane at  Leesburg or Dulles.  Shown below is a letter I sent to the 
BOS; please  feel free to use all or any part of it as you create your own  
message. 
Time is  short, we must get this  done right now or we all will see a very 
large increase in our tax  bill. 
Just below my letter  I have listed the contact information for each member 
of the BOS.  I  suggest that you e-mail each one individually.  You may want to 
follow  with a phone call to ensure that your message has been  received. 
Please get your  e-mails sent no later than the middle of this  week.

Dear Members of the  Board, 
I am writing with respect to the  proposed personal property tax increase on 
airplanes based in Loudoun County.  I am the owner / operator  of an airplane 
with the tail number N634TA, a Baron, based at Leesburg Airport (KJYO).  I 
have reviewed  the proposed property tax increase, and have reached the 
conclusion that,  based upon the value of my plane and attendant increase in 
cost to 
remain  based at Leesburg that I will have no choice to re-base at one of four 
or more  adjacent airports, that presently have availability and will not 
impose the  tax proposed in Loudoun. 
It is my belief that the proposed  tax increase will cost the county a 
significant portion of the resident  airplane owners.  I would ask that you 
reject 
the proposed increase and  thus keep the vibrant and vital aviation community 
in business, in  Loudoun.
