How many GA pilots need the FARs and the AIM
on PAPER vs. on the web?
I will compile and submit.

Hi everyone. First, the round of comments I got over the weekend has
already proven helpful to the folks at FAA. So thanks! It's hard for
non-regulators to understand how wonderful it is to hear from real people
who have to deal with the regs every day. But believe me, they're
incredibly grateful!
One bit of annoyance coming back from FAA is that they're not allowed to
call the regs "FARs" because that stands for "federal acquisition
regulations." The formal "FARs" govern everything from contracting
requirements to purchasing office paper. I made it quite clear that
everyone involved with aviation uses the term, but apparently it's out of
the FAA's hands. Thus, while they'll do their best to make 14 CFR (the
formal designation of the FARs) available online, they won't call them the
"FARs." Silly, I know, but at least now you know why.
Now comes a followup question: How many GA pilots need the FARs and the AIM
on PAPER vs. on the web? My friend at the FAA says she keeps being told by
other FAA people "well our customers want it on paper."
