FAA TO ESTABLISH TFR OVER PHILADELPHIA ON SATURDAY
AOPA is sending this message to advise pilots in and near Philadelphia
that the FAA has issued a notam restricting flight in the area during
President Bush's planned visit on Saturday, December 4.
There will be a large 30-nautical-mile-radius temporary flight
restriction (TFR) with a 10-nm general aviation no-fly zone. The TFR
will be centered on the OOD VOR's 033-degree radial at 16.8 miles and
extend up to Flight Level 180. It will be in effect from 12:25 p.m.
until 7:25 p.m. on Saturday. See AOPA Online for the full text of the
notam and a graphic
The affected landing facilities are Penn's Landing Heliport (P72),
Philadelphia International (PHL), Philadelphia SPB (9N2), Camden
County (19N), Cross Keys (17N), Northeast Philadelphia (PNE), Spitfire
Aerodrome (7N7), South Jersey Regional (VAY), Total Rf Heliport (00A),
Southern Cross (C01), Wings Field (LOM), Flying W (N14), Valley Forge
Bicentennial Heliport (0P0), Red Lion (N73), Horsham Valley Airways
Inc. Heliport (N48), Rudys (25N), Brandywine (N99), Keystone Heliport
(N02), Pemberton (3N7), Kroelinger (29N), Hammonton Municipal (N81),
Perkiomen Valley (N10) Redwing (2N6), Vineland-Downstown (28N), New
Castle (ILG), Bucks (00N), Doylestown (DYL), Pottstown Limerick (PTW),
Trenton Mercer (TTN), New Garden (N57), Li Calzi (N50), and
Pennridge (N70).
Because TFR airspace frequently changes, AOPA strongly encourages
pilots to obtain a briefing and CHECK NOTAMS before every flight.
TFR violators will be intercepted and forced to land.
