Ed's Notes from the Airport Commission Meeting last night..

Steve Hertz and team made a presentation on how important the Civil Air Patrol is to the community and the airport.  They boast over 100 local members, look for missing Aircraft, Respond to ELT's, Help with missing persons, lost hunters, disaster relief, & Homeland Security.

The Working group is holding a meeting Wed night, all are welcome to attend. (I sent out the agenda yesterday for this meeting).

When the condemned South hangars are destroyed, 10 "rough" tie downs will be available until the new hangars are ready to go up.

Self Service fuel is about 18-24 months from being a reality.

Lot's of reports of deer.  Efforts will be stepped up to help control deer population around the airport.

New FBO "Avionics Systems, LLC" application approved.

Sump and Dump Plan still underway.  Piedmont Hawethorne will sell the GAATs sump jar for $16.50 and has them in stock (Mail order is like $21.00 + shipping).

Snow removal plan was developed to make things a little smoother when the white stuff begins to fall.

December 16th meeting is suggested to be a "light" one.

Thanks!
