[JYO] Dulles ATC is excited to meet the Leesburg Pilots September 19th!

Hello!

The other day I met with Sherelle Carper (Dulles Air Traffic Manager) and
with Jaime Llana (Assistant Air Traffic Manager. They are excited to present
to the Leesburg Pilots on Wednesday, September 19th at the Leesburg Armory.
The program will begin at 7PM with WINGS from the Dulles FSDO and then will
continue at 8PM with Jaime's team.

You may recall that I sent out an e-mail on July 10th asking if anyone on my
Leesburg Pilots list would be interested in a seminar such as this. Over 50
people responded favorably and that is why this session was scheduled. It
was not the result of a complaint that I allegedly made on behalf of all of
the pilots that fly in and out of Leesburg. I spoke to that person after the
e-mail was sent by him and he told me that he was misinformed when he wrote
it.

Anyway, Jaime and Sherelle are happy to do this and even offered tower tours
of the IAD facility if we can set up small groups. If anyone is interested
in a tower/facility tour I can help set that up too.

Thank you and see you (or some of you) on the 19th!

Ed,

Washington FSDO has confirmed the Wings program meeting on September 19,
2001. We (Dulles Tower) will participate and will provide an operational
briefing to all interested pilots. We will brief from 8:00 to 9:00 PM. Our
focus is on providing information and education on Dulles' ATC
operations, flows, good practices, and constraints. We will give a broad
overview tailored to the JYO pilots. We look forward to a productive
exchange of information.
