[JYO] Airport re-opened

JYO was re-opened yesterday afternoon, subject to a short closure today to
have a crane lift the steel mats back onto a truck. Airport management moved as
quickly as possible to get things back to normal, but there were quite a few
aircraft and owners inconvenienced by this outage. Don't think we don't know
that !
This unfortunately was one of those weird 'it happened in just the wrong
spot' accidents compounded by the new types of materials found in today's
airplanes, which is not conducive to calling the local towing firms and
dragging it
onto a flatbed (like we normally do). Recovering the aircraft using normal
methods (used by our list of companies on-call, which we update frequently)
could quite easily have turned the aircraft from 'repairable' to
'unsalvageable'
in about 30 minutes. The airport would have been open almost immediately,
but the airplane would have been junk.
The aircraft was recovered by two massive construction cranes using special
slings (specific to the Premiere) flown in by Raytheon.
Thanks for everyone's patience,
Dennis
