Ed,

Please broadcast this to Leesburg pilots. Thank you.

As the Owner of Blue Sky Aviation, Inc, (BSA) dba Mid-Atlantic Diamond Aircraft, I would like to state my position on the application of additional businesses on the field.

As many of you know, BSA has operated an aircraft sales organization on the field, in the terminal office space at Leesurg since 1991. We also maintain a second Leesburg office in the office park and an office in Lakeland Florida. We initially sold restored low time Cessnas, then Cessna Twins then New Cessna singles and new Mooney's. For the last three years we have exclusively distributed Diamond Aircraft. Our Diamond Aircraft sales territory covers the coastal states from New York to Florida and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

At the last Town Council meeting I addressed the Council as a petitioner. There is a video tape available of my presentation at the town. I clearly stated that I had concern and confusion about the manner in which the leasing of new terminal office space has been handled over the course of the last several years and three Airport Directors. I stated that we are now only three months or so away from the terminal being completed. At this late date, the long term tenants, Blue Sky Aviation, Inc and AV-ED Flight school have been given no information or assurance of space we submitted letters of intention to lease back in 2001. We are left hanging without an understanding of how we (BSA and AV-ED), as long term tenants,  will be treated  and whether we will even be able to return to the terminal to continue conducting business.

In addition, I stated that I could not understand how the powers at be could be considering adding  new businesses , temporarily in a trailer,  when clearly and knowingly  one business, Aviation Adventures, has submitted a letter of intent to lease the very same space BSA has had a letter of intent  to lease since 2001. The net effect would be that both businesses CANNOT be in the same space.

My only issues are with the lack of a terminal space allocation plan at this late date and that the existing businesses will be treated fairly prior to consideration of new businesses given our long history on the field, our contributions and displacement from the terminal due to construction. Further, without those issues having been rsolved, it seems odd to grant an operating permit in a trailer to a new  business.

Let me make it perfectly clear that Blue Sky Aviation, Inc dba Mid-Atlantic Diamond has no objection to Aviation Adventures being on the Field if all parties can agree on how BSA, AV-ED and the new business (s) can all be placed in suitable space in the new terminal. At present, that is extremely unclear.. In fact, until this present controvercy arose, Mid-Atlantic Diamond and Aviation Adventures (Manassas) enjoyed a very cooperative working relationship. We believe Aviation Adventures is a solid operation with which, until recently, we have enjoyed a good working relationship..

Should these space issues become resolved , we would look forward to continuing a cooperative relationship with any new business on the field as we have had for over a decade with Piedmont Hawthorne and AV-ED Flight School.

Thank you
