[JYO] A few notes from this evenings Airport Commission meeting..

A few notes about tonight's meeting..  I know this is not as detailed as 
"Doug's Corner" but it will have to do.

Doug was out of town for tonight's meeting.  The minutes were approved after 
a few minor changes.

Mayor Umstattd was present at tonight's meeting and was welcomed by airport 
Commission Chairman Steve Axeman in the Chairman's opening remarks.

There was lots of discussion about the proposed new hangar lease. Not many 
commission members like it in it's entirety. What was decided to be the next 
step was that Jackie will get a copy of the proposed lease to me to put on 
the LeesburgPilots web for comment from the airport tenants and users. After 
I do that, you will be able to send your comments to Steve Axeman, drop them 
off at Doug's office or even send them to me to forward on if you want to 
make your comments anonymously (please state so in your request).

The commission also voted to have the self service fuel site evaluation added 
to the planning for this fall. If it is added in the fall, it can be done at 
no charge. If it is done now, it would cost $5000.00.

There is no plane washing still at Leesburg except by the FBO which has an 
EPA approved oil/water separator.

The town has recently hired a new webmaster and the Commission expects future 
enhancements to the leesburgva.org web site to include all airport documents 
(minutes, agendas, leases, etc.) to be on that web site. Links to those items 
once they are live will also be available from LeesburgPilots.com

The Airport Commission also wants to hold a BBQ in the coming months so that 
pilots, airport neighbors and commission members can all meet and eat. Dates 
and details to follow as they become available.

As soon as I have the proposed airport lease and comment instructions, I will 
get those out.
