I use Yumex/yum to install the missing files and keep=20 > my system up to date.=20 Fedora Core 2 required Sun Java to install. Is that still the case? If you can have The FC Xine play ANY DVD that's a plus. SuSE, from the time Novell bought them, just refuses to play any DVD: mrl. Puts up a nice explanation that playing DVD's is probably illegal. Doesn't matter if you have an unencrypted DVD you made yourself. When I was running FC2 it seems like I had to maintain my RedHat network account to keep FC2 up2date working. It kept complaining that my account was stale, etc. Yum worked sort of, but the repositories were often offline. I'm sure that's been greatly improved in FC3, 4 & 5. If I had another box at home I'd probably give Fedora another try, just to keep in touch with the RedHat world - but for now, not possible.
