Finally figured out how to get qdvdauthor to complete the processing of 
my slideshow.

My project has 3 - slideshows that are launched from buttons. Works 
great. One minor problem is that when the button is highlighted, the 
button text is masked out. Hopefully the developer will take care of 
this shortly. He seems to be actively working on the project. I just 
downloaded the latest CVS tarball, which was generated last night.

Your install of qDVDauthor actually produced working buttons!
That's an improvement over my install (Debian 0.1.0Sarge0.0).  Guess there IS a 
lotta zeros in that package name...
