Unfortunately, Quicktime isn't a codec in itself; it's just a wrapper
for many different codecs. Some of those codecs are patented, and many
don't have a publicly-available format; so Linux quicktime players
typically don't support the formats in which movie trailers (for
instance) are encoded.
However.
There is an excellent quicktime player at:
http://heroinewarrior.com/quicktime.php3
I've not used it for movie trailers, but it *may* work. I'll download
the most recent version and give it a shot.
