Well, let me just make a brief introduction to the question that I have.
Is there a way to read a web page in a perl script?
I would like to grab several text pages from the web, parse them looking for
selected portions and make a new file that
could be displayed as a web page. The perl is running on a linux isp system. I
do have access to cgi-bin if necessary,
but the ISP says there are no SSI (if that might be necessary).
I caught something yesterday about using 'sockets'. Am I on the right track?
Should I do further research into Sockets
or should I be studying another path to accomplishing this task.
Dan
