There are new OpenOffice 1.0.1 packages available for Debian unstable,
which should also be available for Debian stable (Woody) soon. Since
this Friday's office demo will include OpenOffice 1.0.1 on Debian Woody,
I'll have those packages available for you in addition to the normal
Juneau-lug OpenOffice 1.0.1 installation CD. Also good news for other
distributions - the OpenOffice project is working on support for RPMs
and hopefully FreeBSD ports for the next release of OpenOffice.
If you're using Debian, and you want to install OpenOffice with apt-get,
add these sources to your sources.list file:
For Woody:
deb http://www.phy.olemiss.edu/openoffice/ woody main contrib
For Sid:
deb http://www.phy.olemiss.edu/openoffice/ unstable main contrib
Then a quick
apt-get update && apt-get install openoffice.org
should do it.
Cheers,
James
