I've got a borrowed Power PC 750 (400 MHz, 128M) for the summer and of
course would like to try to run linux on it. It has OS X 10.3 on it and
lots of software that I don't want to lose so I'm thinking live cd or
partition & dual boot.
I tried the old Ubuntu 5.1 live cd for mac that Jake handed out a long
time ago. It does boot, but X11 is so slow its unusable. The command
shell console is slow too, but it works. Haven't found the HPFS support
yet and can't mount the hard drive.
What are my options? Debian? Yellow Dog? A different live cd? Has
anyone done this on an older PPC? Any suggestions?
TIA.
