I had been having problems with Kmenu and the task bar hanging, i.e.,
the cursor could move around, but I couldn't pick a menu item or an item
from the task bar. Had read that it was Qt, then it seemed that it
happened mostly when I had Mozilla and Mozilla Mail open. Was going to
report that connection, when I read that it was Klipper that was causing
the problem. Klipper is a clipboard manager that can be pretty handy,
but in this case it turned out the be the source of the problem. If you
are using KDE 3.2 and run into the problem I described, disable Klipper.
I had a bit of a time doing this. It wasn't starting from the Startup
folder and there wasn't a setting in the Klipper settings. I renamed the
executable and it still started. Finally went into .kde/share/config
folder in my home folder and found klipperrc and changed AutoStart to
false. Everything seems to be working fine now.
