Mine comes out as:

190 frames in 5.0 seconds = 38.000 FPS

(Much older equipment than most people are using - 1997 technology, with a
4MB PCI ViRGE/Gx card.)

So for me, the perceived difference in speed between Gnome and KDE is very
noticeable!
