Hmm. Sounds like the script doesn't call `mkfontdir` correctly. If you
just copy fonts.scale to fonts.dir, you are only going to see the
scalable fonts. The non-scalable fonts (if there are any) won't appear.
If you rename fonts.dir to fonts.dir.old, and then run `mkfontdir
/usr/share/AbiSuite/fonts` does AbiWord start correctly?
