Do an adsl-start.

route delete default
or
route default delete  (whichever)

route add default ppp0
or
route default add ppp0 (whichever)

Then ping.

I've never used the wizard - I edit the rp-pppoe.conf
file.

adsl-start I believe, if you're doing it manually.

eth1 is not brought up at boot time.
ppp0 attaches to eth1 when you adsl-start.
