  Job Title:         Software Engineer 

  Department:    Advanced Technology Group

  Level:               Exempt

   

  Job Experience:

  Qualified candidate will have a good mix of technical, business and 
professional skills.  Primary role will be as Web Developer, working on all 
aspects of web applications including the support and administration of third 
party applications.  Person must be able to work with business users and as a 
member of a team to gather business requirements.  Candidate must also be able 
to determine system requirements, both for the development of new systems as 
well as for the maintenance and enhancement of existing systems.  Typically 
works with limited direction on assignments.  This person will be responsible 
for the design, programming, testing and maintenance of small to medium-sized 
applications, as well as complex applications.  

  Specific Skills:

  ·         3-5 years experience in a business support role.

  ·         3-5 years experience in client-server system development.

  ·         Ability to work with vendors and business users on application 
issues by using problem determination and root cause analysis skills.

  ·         Ability to write programs within estimates and in conformance to 
standards.

  ·         Modify and write complex applications programs from detailed 
specifications with minimal supervision. 

  ·         Ability to verify accuracy and completeness of work by preparing 
and testing sample data.  Correct program errors indicated by test runs.

  ·         Verify accuracy and completeness of work by preparing and testing 
sample data and modules in any system or project assigned.  Work with other 
teams to correct program errors indicated by test runs.

  ·         Prepare and implement information systems and management 
requirements to compile, test and move systems to the production environment.

  ·         Effective oral and written communications skills, interfacing with 
internal peers, management, and vendors.  Will also interface with 
non-management and management level personnel outside the function.

  ·     Ability to provide Project Manager with estimates.

  ·         Ability to meet additional attendance requirements.  Must be able 
to work during business quiet times (evenings, holidays) and provide on-call 
support 24 hrs per day 7 days a week.



  System Platform / Software Packages:

  ·         Windows NT environments experience required

  ·         SQL experience required

  ·         Active Server Pages ( ASP ) experience required

  ·         Active X Controls / HTML experience required

  ·         VB Scripting experience required

  ·         Microsoft Source Safe Configuration Management a plus, but not 
required

  ·         Microsoft InterDev Application Development experience a plus, but 
not required

  ·         Macromedia Suite experience a plus, but not required
