INVITATION TO SKILLED  FACILITATORS  
Skilled facilitators are  invited to volunteer for a unique gathering in 
Cincinnati, Saturday April 29, 2006. Several  hundred Cincinnati residents will 
gather at the  Cincinnati Health Care Community Meeting for a day of informed 
discussion about  what the nationâ??s health care priorities should include.  
This 
is one of more than thirty meetings  of varying sizes being convened across 
the United States by  the Citizensâ?? Health Care Working Group. The purpose of 
these meetings is to  discuss health care benefits and services, getting health 
care, financing, and  tradeoffs and options.  
The Cincinnati meeting will  bring a group representative of the population 
together for thoughtful  deliberation about how to address these health care 
issues. Facilitators will  work with one table of ten people in dialogue around 
these specific questions.  Via laptop computers and key pad devices, 
individual tables will share results  of their conversations with the entire 
room of 
several hundred participants.   
PROCESS 
These unique meetings will  be designed and produced by AmericaSpeaks using 
its 21st Century  Town Meeting model, which combines small group dialogue with 
interactive keypad  and computer technology.   AmericaSpeaks has worked in

FACILITATOR REQUIREMENTS -  SKILLS AND QUALITIES 
SKILLS & QUALITIES  
    *   Significant experience  facilitating small group face to face 
deliberation, building toward consensus  while holding respectful space for 
difference 
    *   Able to adhere to tight  timelines and specific directions 
    *   Deep listening skills   
    *   Comfortable with  diversity on many dimensions  
    *   Capacity to remain  neutral and support the expression of many 
different points of view   
MUST BE WILLING TO COMMIT  TO: 
·         Volunteer your time, 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM on Saturday,  April 29th at 
the Cinergy Center. 
·         Register and attend a 2 hour program orientation at one  of several 
sites and times before the meeting (dates, times and locations are on  the 
registration form). 
·         Participate in a quick debrief at the conclusion of the  meeting to 
provide feedback and suggestions to planners and  colleagues.
