The Shepherd Chemical Company has opportunity for a Chemical Production
Worker at our Norwood Ohio location.
Position Summary: Produces specialty metal based Chemical Products
FLSA: Non-exempt
Major Responsibilities:
. Participates in the daily production of a variety of chemicals
and chemical intermediates by following standard operating procedures.
. Operates plant equipment such as filters, driers, pulverizers,
and blenders.
. Reads and follows standard batch processing procedures; receives
and follows verbal and written instructions.
. Stages raw materials using scale or measurement devices for
accurate mixing of proper quality and quantity to reactors and blenders as
specified by batch process order.
. Monitors recording instruments, pressure gauges, scales, flow
meters, panel lights and other indicators to verify conformity to required
process conditions.
. Monitors control settings and makes necessary adjustments to
equipment.
. Accurately completes required process documentation.
Education, Skills, and Experience, Special Physical Requirements:
. High School diploma or equivalent.
. Basic Math skills required.
. Able to pass required physical strength and dexterity testing
including ability to lift 50 pounds.
. Ability to operate material handling equipment, such as fork
lifts and hand trucks.
. Ability to do physical labor, such as shoveling, lifting,
stacking bags and moving drums.
. Requires bending, lifting, reaching, and walking or standing.
. Ability to manage multiple priorities, effective Team Player,
self motivated, quick learner.
. Good communication skills with the ability to read, write, and
communicate fluently in English.
