[jsfg_cinti] Re: career management - Berhard Haldane

I will add my own 2 cents worth to this discussion.
Last year I went over to see one of the salesmen (I
didn't realize in the beginning that that was what he
was) at Bernard Haldane. He talked to me for a couple
of hours, and he was pretty slick, and he wanted about
$3000+ (don't remember the exact amount) to help me
find a job. Personally I would have liked to ask him
if he would have been willing to let me pay him out of
my first few paychecks after I got the job he was
going to help me get, but I can imagine what his
reaction to that would have been. I also can imagine
what would have been the reaction if I had asked if
there was a refund if I didn't get a job through their
efforts. One thing that really raised a red flag was
when he played a video tape which he said something to
the effect that it was a TV documentary that had been
done about their services, and of course it showed
satisfied customers, etc. But I noticed that there
was nothing on there to indicate which TV network had
produced it, and having seen custom-produced TV
infomercials before, I figured that was what it was,
not an documentary from a financially-impartial 3rd
party. Well, they seem to have been around a while,
so maybe they can help in some cases, but I think
there are more economical resources available.
