To the Listserve:
I have responded privately to Tim's request since my problems/challenges went
well beyond the initial "problem definition."
If you want to see my original JSFG Listserve email, click

If you want the details of my problems with NIS 2005, please email me using
reply to sender and I will forward the email I sent to Tim.
Otherwise, have great day.
Thanks,
Gayle

Gayle,
For some of us that may have missed your original request for
assistance, can you tell us what your basic problem was with the Norton
product?
I use SystemWorks 2003 and don't have any issues. I would appreciate it
since I'm getting close to updating my software.
Thanks,
Tim

Subject: [jsfg_cinti] antivirus, email scanning and firewall software
Good morning fellow JSFG members,
***My current need is to get recommendations for alternative antivirus,
email scanning and firewall software (and it doesn't have to be free--it
just has to install easily and work properly/easily for a non-technical
person). I have Windows ME and use Outlook Express 6.***
A month ago, 13 caring, extremely knowledgeable JSFG members immediately
responded to my request for help with Norton Internet Security 2005.
Some of you responded with challenges of your own, so I appreciate the
empathy. Thank you so much.
While I didn't respond individually to you, I did collectively take
advice from many of you. I used the Symantec online help feature and
have been corresponding with Technical Support for the past month and
following his instructions, which has taken me over 50 hours to
implement.
Last night I email him once again, detailing more problems. I then went
to the Symantec website to return the product and get a refund. They
have a 60 day refund policy, and fortunately for me, I didn't wait any
longer since yesterday was day 60! I would NOT recommend this product.
Again, I thank everyone at JSFG. I couldn't have done it without you.
Gayle
