To my friends at JSFG:
Recently there has been a rash of 'phishing' fraud-based e-mails
circulating.
I received one purportedly from EBay with a subject line of something
like:
EBay Fraud Investigation
Within the body of the e-mail they ask you to please confirm your
account
information by clicking .. NEVER NEVER NEVER do this!
Anyway maybe you already know how to spot these and/or avoid them . but
as a result I joined fraudwatchinternational.com (for free). I reported
it and
found that there were dozens of different ones sent out this last week
targeting EBay
with different subject lines. They have a database by targeted company
and an
e-mail newsletter notifying you of the latest scam(s). I was surprised
at how
prevalent it is.
So for whatever it is worth .. just be careful out there. The e-mails
look
more and more authentic.
