[jsfg_cinti] Re: This Is Jamie Davis, and I'm Back

Dear Jamie,

Congratulations to you for being a 'tough cookie' and persistent in your job
search, despite being blind. I had to create my own job in order to get a job.
So, be tough! I admire your tenacity.

Subject: [jsfg_cinti] This Is Jamie Davis, and I'm Back

My name is Jamie Davis.  A month or so ago I graduated from JSFG for a
position with a company called Infocision; However, the position just wasn't
a good fit for me.  The position was to make calls to customers of various
organizations to ask them to become volunteers.  I believe it takes a
special type of person to overcome the tremendous amount of rejection
associated with the communicator of position.  Upon discovering that
challenge, I felt my personality just didn't mesh with Infocision's
objectives.

While this position wasn't a good match, what I have done previously was as
a Market Research Interviewer for the Cintas Corporation, headquartered here
in Cincinnati.  In the seven years I was in that position, I learned many of
the customer service skills I currently possess.  I've received additional
customer service/call center  training within the last year or so to
fine-tune those skills.  It was obtaining the Bachelor of Science degree in
Marketing from Wright State University in Dayton Ohio that paved the way to
my career with Cintas.

Currently I am seeking a position where I can utilize the soft skills that
I've gained over the years, such as being friendly, having a positive
attitude, and a strong desire to provide a solutions oriented approach to a
position of which I am hired.  Perhaps answering phones in some fashion, or
any type of phone work.  I would like to explore new opportunities in
addition to call centers where I can utilize the skills I already have and
to gain some new ones.  I believe that with my honesty and integrity, I can
build rapport, that will enable a company who can utilize my skills, to
maintain the relationship with current and potential new customers.

As a person who is blind I use the computer with the aid of a screen reader
to handle daily activities that would require navigating between multiple
screens of a particular program.  I have looked in to the Clovernook Center
for the Blind and the Cincinnati Association for the blind and Visually
Impaired for opportunities, only to find that my qualifications don't match
the positions they are currently seeking to fill.

If you have any suggestions, or would like a copy of my resume, feel free to
send me an e-mail, or look me up on Linked In.  I am looking for companies
within Hamilton County to take advantage of the transportation options
available to me.  Thanks so much for any assistance in this matter.

Sincerely,

Jamie Davis
