LAN/NT/Unix Analyst

Responsible for the system design, selection, acquisition, installation, 
maintenance and use of the Company's LAN/NT/UNIX systems. Responsible 
for the acquisition, installation, maintenance and usage of the 
Company's local Windows 2000/NT server networks. Manages Windows 2000/NT 
performance and maintains security. Participates in the design, 
implementation and enforcement of infrastructure management and security 
procedures. Participates in the design, creation, and maintenance of 
Internet/World Wide Web products and activities. In addition, is 
responsible for the administration and coordination of corporate email 
systems and/or other messaging (e.g. Lotus Notes). Additional 
responsibilities include:

· Establishing/recommending policies on LAN/NT/UNIX system use and services.
· Addressing UNIX based operating system issues such as; paging and 
swapping inter-process communication, devices and what device drivers 
do, file system concepts ("inode, "superblock"), NFS, NIS, DNS and basic 
routing concepts.
· Installing and troubleshooting Windows 2000/NT network software.
· Establishing and implementing Windows 2000/NT policies, procedures and 
standards and ensures their conformance with information systems and 
Company's objectives.
· Advising users on access to various Company websites. May also oversee 
the direction and maintenance of Internet security.
· Planning, developing, documenting, and implementing enhancements to 
email network.
· Monitoring e-mail systems performance and resolving problems. 
Providing support and consultation to remote locations or clients in 
order to identify requirements and configuration resources. Overseeing 
maintenance of directories and system updates.
· Developing procedures, writing instructional memoranda, and 
occasionally conducting classes to insure new equipment, software and 
data processing techniques are easily and correctly used. May be 
responsible for training materials and curriculum related to use of 
corporate email systems and standards.

Qualified candidates will possess:
· Extensive knowledge/experience of Windows 2000 environment; including 
installation, administration, and maintenance.
· Experience with AIX and/or Unix environment (s).
· Demonstrated experience with Storage Area Network and High 
Availability Switch environments.
· Proven experience and willingness to study the theoretical and 
technical aspects of data processing.
· Demonstrated experience working independently. Experience must include 
identifying and resolving problems where independent decision-making and 
initiative were demonstrated.
· Proven work experience directing others to initiate a recommended 
course of action to solve a problem or increase efficiency.
· Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills with 
the ability to successfully interpret and communicate business needs 
between internal systems group and external vendors in a clear, focused 
and concisemanner.
· Proven experience and proficiency assessing, analyzing, writing, and 
communicating business requirements/specifications for projects.
· Demonstrated experience setting professional goals and taking the 
initiative to continually enhance skills.
· Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and enforcing system 
administration and operational management procedures and standards.
