[jsfg_cinti] Re: Thanks! Next question...

The idiots Guide to the Perfect Resume has a list of Resume Commandments
inside the cover which state:
1) Thou shalt not write about your past; thou shalt write about your =
future!
Your resume should paint a picture of you at your next job. Without
realizing it, the reader of your resume will be "tricked" into =
envisioning
you working for him or her.
2) Thou shalt not confess. In other words, you don't have to "tell =
all."
Stick to what's relevant and marketable.
3) Thou shalt not write job descriptions; thou shalt write achievement
statements. Talk about your experience in terms of your achievements
instead of monotonous job descriptions.
4) Thou shalt not write about stuff you do not want to do again. =
Promote
only the skills you enjoy using.
5) Thou shalt say less rather than more. Give your resume more power =
by
distilling your qualifications into a minimum of words.
6) Thou shalt not write in paragraphs; thou shalt use bullet points. =
Make
your resume quick and easy to read by breaking your information into
bite-sized pieces.
7) Thou shalt not lie. You can be creative, but always be honest.

Thanks to everyone for their replies to my question re: a "Stressful job
situation" I think I'll go ahead and take the job if it's offered to me =
and,
since it's temp to perm, just see how things go. Maybe I can nose around =
the
place and talk to people in the cafeteria or at the water cooler and get
some ideas on how it is to work there, etc.

Another question that came up during this interview process was about =
my
experience as a cashier at Kroger. I worked for Kroger from May, 2002 =
thru
April 2007 as a cashier at night. I didn't like this job as, for one =
thing,
it was hard on my feet, standing for hours at a time on a concrete =
floor.
And that's the main reason I have left there. Well, I took the job =
mainly
just to have some money coming in for food, gas and rent while I looked =
for
a REAL JOB in my field during the day.l have not put this Kroger =
experience
on my resume, since it was not in my field of accounting. But one of the
interviewers at Northrop suggested that I put it on the resume, just so =
as
to account for my time. What's everyone think? Think it should be on the
resume or not? I am looking for an accounting/auditing position. And I =
have
applied to Kroger in their corporate office for those types of =
positions,
but to no avail so far.=20

  Thanks
