        Job Background: 

         

        Experience:


        
- Experience in development of technical training paths for a variety of 
information
technology skill sets
- Experience using Project Management disciplines
- Experience using defined process standards a plus (SEI - CMM, ISO 9001, for 
example)
-Technical, hands-on experience in software development /maintenance a plus
-Experience in assisting in strategic development plans for technical staff a 
plus


        
Skills:


        
-Demonstrated capability using techniques to assess skill levels of staff
-Ability to assess skill deficiencies in staff and identify training to bridge 
the
skill gaps
-Strong ability to build relationships across departments and groups
-Excellent interpersonal, coaching/mentoring, team building, and communication 
skills
-Leadership and organizational skills to effectively manage multiple priorities


         

         


        Primary Responsibilities 

        ·         Operate independently to:
-Assess training needs, develop education plans and coordinate technical 
training
-Assist in identifying opportunities to staff for career development
-Assure maintenance of inventory of skills and experience of staff
-Work with other AFG ITServices functional areas to understand and plan 
technical
training paths for staff and projects
-Research and maintain inventory of technical training resources 
-Coordinate outsourced training as necessary

 


        Associated Responsibilities 

        ·         Understand the business direction and the business/IT 
connection to adjust
plans based on impact 


        Education: 

        Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or 
Information Systems
(or equivalent experience).
