Lance,
The idea behind Wikipedia is that it provides information about a wide
variety of things, and is especially useful regarding subjects that are
not included in traditional resources such as the Encyclopedia
Brittanica.
While users are invited to make additions to the repository, these
submissions are posted on a provisional basis until they can be reviewed
and verified by the Wikipedia staff.
It is my understanding that there is a disclaimer for items that have
not been verified yet, so reasonable caution is advisable when
consulting those.=20

Subject: [jsfg_cinti] Tech Note: Online access to Encyclopedia
Brittanica
Dear JSFG folks,
During the job search we often need to perform research to refresh our
knowledge of various subjects or to learn something new. As you may
know, there is a fantastic array of informational resources available
through the Internet.
The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County is a participant in
the OPLIN (Ohio Public Library Information Network) and through it has
access to a wide variety of databases including the Encyclopedia
Brittanica. =20
If you have a PLCHC library card you have access to those databases
(various other Ohio Public Libraries also have access).
Here's a link that allows you quick access to the Encyclopedia
Brittanica through OPLIN:
http://www.oplin.org/controller.php?l=3Dra&Id=3D67-63
Ohio residents will be taken to a webpage where they must enter their
Ohio zipcode. After entering the zipcode, they will have access to the
main page of the Encyclopedia Brittanica where they can begin their
search for information.
I encourage you to use the reliable and authoritative Encyclopedia
Brittanica as your source of information rather than such questionable
online resources as Wikipedia.
Good luck with the job search and have a great day!
Regards,
Lance Feldman
