Dear Lisa,
There is a an organization in Dayton called Day-VEST.
According to their website:
----- Begin quote -----
"Day-VEST is a non-profit volunteer employment
placement service run by, and for, unemployed
professionals. We provide a service for both employers
and members. Our trained evaluators match applicant
skills to employer needs, and only those who meet job
specifications will be referred by Day-Vest to an
employer.
Day-VEST members are unemployed managerial, technical,
and professional people who volunteer their time to
help one another find suitable employment. Members
must have at least a two-year college degree or
equivalent professional experience to join Day-VEST.
All Day-VEST members are experienced employees, and
many hold advanced degrees in their respective fields.
History
Day-VEST, established in 1973, is affiliated with the
Ohio Bureau of Employment Services (O.B.E.S), now
known as the Ohio Department of Job and Family
Services (ODJFS). More than 10,000 individuals have
benefited from Day-VEST since its inception."
----- End quote -----
The website of the organization is at URL:
http://www.day-vest.org/
Their e-mail address is:
day-vest@xxxxxxxxx
I found no mention on their website of an orientation
specifically to persons over the age of 55. But it
may still be of interest to you nonetheless.
Have a great day!
Regards,
Lance Feldman
