convenience store markets, has an immediate opportunity available for a Sr. 
Network Administrator.GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:Provide Information Technology 
support to users in all area of information systems and applications utilized 
by Pierre Foods user community. Implement and execute information systems that 
satisfy Pierre Foods requirements while maintaining the standards, 
documentation, and information technology best practices of the Information 
Technology Department. Assists in maintaining multiple operating systems on 
installed on various platforms, business specific server applications, and 
desktop applications. Must coordinate or maintain equipment. IT Technology 
expertise in the areas of servers, PCs, network infrastructure design and 
maintenance, switches, routers, firewalls and printer hardware. Working 
knowledge of network operating systems (Microsoft, Linux, UNIX or AIX), PC 
(DOS, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003), and infrastructure 
hardware.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Expertise in Network server hardware, 
operating systems (Microsoft, Linux, UNIX, AIX), Microsoft Exchange 2003, and 
server based business applications. Competent with infrastructure hardware 
including Cisco routers, switches, PIX firewalls and the operating systems. 
Understanding of remote communications hardware and software for LAN/WAN, T-1, 
dial up and VPN technology. Knowledge of Web Servers ( IIS, Apache), 
Application Servers ( Tomcat, Websphere, Jboss) , Database Servers ( DB2, 
MySQL, MS SQL) and SSL. Ability to help with various shop floor technologies 
(eg: RF Equipment, PLC's, etc) and related hardware/software systems for plant 
automation. Working knowledge with multiple protocols including: TCP/IP, 
Ethernet, 802.11B/G, dedicated lines, dialup lines, and client software. 
Demonstrated experience in the help desk role and network operating system 
administration. Ability to quickly understand technology issues and to help 
develop solutions that positively impact overall performance and user community 
understanding. Handles a variety of confidential information and maintains 
confidentiality. Assist in testing new procedures and/or spotting 
irregularities or errors in established procedures and reporting to the 
appropriate area. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Must be a self-starter and be 
able to work unsupervised. Must have working knowledge expertise of computer 
concepts. Must have good communication skills (written/verbal) and the talent 
to deal with difficult individuals during problem resolution. Must have good 
typing skills. Must be able to follow and comprehend written and verbal 
instructions. Must be able to work various hours as required for operation 
procedures and computer system upgrades/implementations. Must be willing to 
take office administration or other skill tests. EDUCATION AND
