GENERAL STATEMENT   Cengage Learning Management Services is a shared servic=
e center providing support and services for 20+ Operating Companies within =
Cengage Learning.  Annual revenues for Cengage Learning are approximately $=
1.8B. Services and support include transactional processing, analysis, and =
reporting, for both Domestic and International units.    This Position will=
 be responsible for the compilation, distribution, and analysis of financia=
l data for Cengage Learning=E2=80=99s global publishing business units. The=
 Position will be responsible for the Sales Reporting area of Cengage Learn=
ing which consists of Deferred Revenue, Sales Crediting and Sales Returns R=
eserve analysis.   The focus of this individual will be to present informat=
ion accurately and timely.   The Position will work with finance and accoun=
ting personnel from corporate offices and the business units. Additionally,=
 the person will have a firm understanding of the structure and
 functionality of general ledger and accounting systems, as well as financi=
al reporting and analytical software. This person will need to possess a de=
sire for learning and understanding the system structure in order to help m=
aintain and improve the financial reporting system.   SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBI=
LITES:   1. Monthly, Quarterly, Annual Reporting =C2=B7          Compiles, =
analyzes, and prepares various financial reports used by finance and accoun=
ting management as needed =C2=B7          Compile and provide regulatory re=
porting   2.       Financial Analysis =C2=B7          Assist in ad-hoc repo=
rting and analysis requests =C2=B7          Implement new processes, provid=
e monthly review and analysis of sales returns reserve =C2=B7          Spec=
ial projects   4. Process Improvement =C2=B7          Find opportunities to=
 add value by improving processes and creating new reports or views of info=
rmation. =C2=B7          Assist in maintenance, enhancement and development=
 of SAS FM =C2=B7       =20
  Special projects   5.       Manage Staff =C2=B7          Manage a staff o=
f two within the sales reporting area =C2=B7          Enhance and streamlin=
e the sales-reporting area   QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:  =C2=B7          BS=
 degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent. Four or more years of relevant=
 experience working with financial reporting and accounting systems.  =C2=
=B7          Understanding of financial analysis techniques and general acc=
ounting procedures. =C2=B7          Experience working with financial state=
ments. =C2=B7          Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities, =
along with the ability to identify exceptions and develop solutions =C2=B7 =
         A strong working knowledge of MS Excel and reporting database soft=
ware are required. MS Access is a plus. =C2=B7          Experience in using=
 reporting and analysis software such as SPSS ShowCase, OutlookSoft, Cognos=
, SAS FM, or Hyperion Essbase or FM is a plus.  =C2=B7          Capable of =
using enterprise general ledger
 systems for investigation inquiry and report writing. Familiarity with ERP=
 systems such as JD Edwards, SAP, or Peoplesoft is desired. =C2=B7         =
 Maintains a strong knowledge of business hierarchies and general ledger ac=
counts =C2=B7          Excellent organization and communication skills and =
ability to work independently are critical. =C2=B7          Determining fac=

orting Analyst - This position requires a BS degree in Finance, Accounting =
or its equivalent, and four or more year=E2=80=99s relevant experience as o=
utlined above. =C2=B7          Senior Financial Reporting Analyst - This po=
sition requires a BS degree in Finance, Accounting or its equivalent, and f=
our or more year=E2=80=99s relevant experience as outlined above; proven ab=
ility to lead projects that are more complex in nature, to identify areas f=
or process improvement, and to provide recommendations and implement proces=
s improvements using
