Getting Started: Why should you become an independent consultant?
Setting Up Your Practice: Choosing a business form, establishing a home office, setting policies, choosing tools and partners.
Managing Your Business: Business planning, budgeting, record keeping, and tax planning.
Marketing and Selling Your Services: Increasing your visibility, cold calling, prospecting, qualifying and closing.
Setting Your Rates: Calculating expenses, planning for profits, setting a rational rate.
Preparing Your Bids: Presenting proposals, justifying your rates, and writing contracts (including sample contract language)
Seminar Speaker: Chris Juillet has the background to speak knowledgeably about the legal and practical aspects of self-employment. He addresses the concerns of consultants in many professions. Juillet's programs have been a popular feature of STC meetings and conferences.

STC Member - $90 ($80 if postmarked before 10/26/01)
Student - $80 ($70 if postmarked before 10/26/01, must include proof of student status)
