Job Description:
Job #049 DMTS - Scientific Technician: DOE facility has a need for a
SCIENTIFIC TECHNICIAN for a long term assignment. The position duration will be
through September 2008 with possibility of extension.
Responsible for interacting with environmental data and information
systems, and performing data manipulation, reduction, and reporting with this
data. This person will be involved in these types of activities (but not
limited to):
- Check/login hardcopy data packages from laboratories.
- Match incoming Groundwater Sample Reports to Lab COCs and complete
field parameter data entry.
- Support manual data entry (loading of field data).
- Load electronic data deliverables from analytical laboratories into
database systems
- Support electronic data verification process (verification and review
of reported data).
- General administrative support to sample data management, including
posting information and documents into the Integrated Document Management
System (IDMS).
- Evaluate and verify lab analytical results, forms, and documents.
AA degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education
and experience, plus two years of experience in Chemistry, Biology or
Environmental Science.
A minimum of one year of experience and proficient in Microsoft Access
and Excel.
Experience with CERCLA regulations and requirements.
