[jsfg_cinti] Reminder: Next meeting of the JSFG-ITSIG Java Training Group is Saturday, July 10, 2004

Dear Members:

The JSFG-ITSIG Java Training Group will
hold their next meeting on Saturday, July
10th, 2004 from 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. in
room 202 at the Hyde Park Community United
Methodist Church (1345 Grace Ave.).

The Saturday discussion session will cover
the following material as previously assigned:

Java 2 Fifth Edition Multimedia
CyberClassroom - Chapter 9

Please be sure to read it before our meeting.
It is important for all of us to be on the same
page of the reading in order to make good
progress in the discussion sessions.

A new addition to the agenda will be to have
group members demonstrate their growing Java
proficiency by writing simple (10-20 line)
Java programs on their computers with the
Java software development tools that were
installed during the recent InstallFest.

In the interest of making progress, there will
be no discussion of previously assigned material
unless absolutely necessary.

The material that has been previously assigned
consists of:

Java 2 Fifth Edition Multimedia
CyberClassroom - Chapters 1 through 8

Complete Java 2 Certification Guide -
Chapters 1 through 3

You are welcome to join the group at any time
during the session. Feel free to join us even
if you cannot arrive promptly at 10:00 A.M. or
stay for the entire session. It is entirely
acceptable to drop in just for a couple of
hours at any time, either in the morning or
the afternoon.

If you are interested in learning Java and
becoming Java certified, but have not been
able to attend our meetings regularly, feel
free to attend and we will discuss ways that
you can jump-start your learning process and
become synchronized with the group. All it
takes is the motivation to read the Java book
and practice what you learn.

If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail
me and I will try to help you.

Regards,
Lance Feldman
Chairman, JSFG Computer Committee
