[jsfg_cinti] Reminder: Next meeting of the JSFG-ITSIG Java Training Group is Saturday, August 21, 2004

Dear Members:

The JSFG-ITSIG Java Training Group will
hold our next meeting on Saturday, August
21st, 2004 from 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. in
room 202 at the Hyde Park Community United
Methodist Church (1345 Grace Ave.).

As you may know, we have finished our study
of chapters 1 through 17 in the Java How To
Program book and cyberclassroom. In addition
our previously assigned reading in the Java 2
Certification Study Guide included chapters 1
through 3. Chapters 4 & 5 were assigned during
this past Wednesday's meeting.

As a consequence of where we stand in our study
of Java and the reading assignments, we will
begin intensive review and drill on the material
from the Java 2 Certification Study Guide. We
will cover as much as we possibly can from
Chapters 1 through 5 of the Study Guide this
Saturday.

Reading assignments for the next week are:

Wednesday - August 25th - Chapters 6&7 in Study Guide
Saturday - August 28th - Chapters 8&9 in Study Guide

Our reading will therefore be complete on August
28th. The group will then continue to meet to
engage in review and drill in order to prepare
study group participants to take the Sun Certified
Java Programmer examination.

You are welcome to join the group at any time
during the session. Feel free to join us even
if you cannot arrive promptly at 10:00 A.M. or
stay for the entire session. It is entirely
acceptable to drop in just for a couple of
hours at any time, either in the morning or
the afternoon.

If you are interested in learning Java and
becoming Java certified, but have not been
able to attend our meetings regularly, feel
free to attend and we will discuss ways that
you can jump-start your learning process.
All it takes is the motivation to read the Java
book and practice what you learn.

If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail
me and I will try to help you.

Regards,
Lance Feldman
Chairman, JSFG Computer Committee
