US – S. FL – Production Planning & Inv. Control Manager

Highlights of the position:

My client, a progressive consumer product goods manufacturer has an opening for 
a production planning and inventory control manager in their South Florida 
corporate headquarters.  The production planning and inventory control manager 
is responsible for managing production planning activities, inventory control 
objectives, product availability, new product introductions and capacity 
planning. This position is expected to play a key role in the ongoing 
improvement of production planning and the inventory control processes.

Essential Responsibilities:

1.        Managing plants with respect to shipment dates
2.        Supervising the data exchange between the forecasting database and 
the production planning database
3.        Setting SKU level parameters for safety stocks and lead times; make 
constant changes to help keep 
         inventory down without lowering customer service
4.        Searching for global inventory balancing opportunities and find the 
most cost effective way to move the 
         stock before placing production orders
5.        Developing a plan to incorporate global supply planning into one 
central location
6.        Monitoring corporate inventory targets for each division and provide 
guidance to the division manager 
         when inventories are out of line
7.        Producing inventory reports by sku to help identify excess, short 
supply, and obsolete merchandise
8.        Maintaining a SKU level inventory plan for each calendar year
9.        Set-up of a warehouse space planning tool that incorporates 
forecasts, inventory, and new production 
         into one concise report
 
Requirements/Qualifications:

1.        Bachelor degree in operations management or business administration
2.        Excellent oral and written communication skills
3.        Strong pc skills (proficient in the following microsoft office 
applications: excel, word, access)
4.        +4 years management expeerience in production planning and inventory 
control
5.        Strong analytical skills
6.        Ability to lead change
7.        Team –oriented, self motivated, and organized
8.        Experience with consumer packaged goods or small electrical appliances
9.        CPM or CPIM certification preferred
